Error
read ECONNRESET or socket hang up in a service's error logs: the other side closed the connection while a request was in flight.
Usual causes
A process restarting (deploy, crash), an idle keep-alive connection reused after the server closed it, or a network blip. A handful per hour is normal. A sustained rate across many requests is not.
Triage
Line the resets up with restarts and deploys of the called service. If none, and the rate is low, treat them as background noise.
